Our MissionThe mission of Serrania Avenue School and its community is to provide a safe, supportive and challenging environment for learning. Our VisionSerrania Avenue School and its community are partners in promoting an environment for academic excellence, curiosity, creativity, responsibility and safety -- culminating in a life-long love of learning. Our BeliefsParents are the first teachers for their own children. Parents and teachers must cooperate as a team with one goal: making the education of children a positive, successful undertaking. Each class is a "family" and our school is a community. It takes a community to raise a child. The children need to know we are TOGETHER as a team to help them all.All Children need to know that they are valued as individuals and that they must respect and value others as well. ALL children can learn and grow in a caring and stimulating environment. Education is a vital key to producing successful citizens. We are ALL learners. We are all working at different developmental levels. Children can and will rise to our expectations. We must expect the best from each child. Children should be recognized and rewarded for individuality and not expected to fit in a mold. Children want to do well. They need to DO THINGS that make them feel successful. An attitude for conscientious learning and moral principals is instilled in children by parents and teachers. It only takes one person to make a difference. We must each make a difference.
