Beginning January 22nd Serrania will be implementing NEW LUNCH & RECESS SCHEDULES, which will separate primary and upper grade students on the yard. These changes are being made to reduce the number of students at the lunch and play areas at one time which will aide with supervision and playground discipline.

We are also making changes to our procedures for students who forget their lunch tickets or money. Starting January 22nd, any student who forgets their lunch ticket or lunch money will wait until all other students have been served. The office will loan lunch money, however, it must be returned the following day. If a student is repeatedly without tickets or money the cafeteria will only provide milk, fruit and crackers per the district cafeteria policy. We are encouraging our students to be responsible and we appreciate your support in this endeavor.

Beginning January 17th all classes will line up in the general assembly area between the track and Room 1 & 6. Students should line up at their appointed location between 7:40 and the 7:55 warning bell. (classroom numbers will be painted on the yard surface) Students will no longer line up outside their classrooms. These same line up areas will be used after recess and lunch.

There's a wonderfully simple way for you to help us raise funds for Serrania. All you have to do is use your Target REDcard or Target Visa, and a percentage of the amount of each purchase you make goes back to Serrania in the form of a cash donation from Target. The money can be used for things that aren't in our budget, like new computers, an improved track, a/v equipment - things that really benefit our kids.

Every year we receive at least $5,000 through the generous support of companies like RALPHS and TARGET. It is an easy way to raise extra money for the school but this year, you will need to RE-REGISTER YOUR RALPHS CARD!!

All members who are currently enrolled in the Ralphs Community Contribution Program will remain active until August 31, 2007. Members will be required to register for the new term at www.Ralphs.com to be effective on September 1, 2007. Our NPO# is 80924. Call 800/660-9003 if you do not know your Ralphs Club Card number.
Print the attached form and turn it in to the office if you do not have access to online registration.
