There will be a lot of changes for our next year and we will try to keep everyone updated as the information comes in. Mrs. Cordoba is being transferred to another school and we are still fighting to keep Mrs. Koff at Serrania. Thank you to everyone who signed the petition to keep Mrs. Koff on as our full time AP-EIS. The teachers also filed a petition to have her as our new principal. We are still not sure what will happen.
There are a couple teacher changes for next year - attached is the very tentative roster for the 09-10 school year.

The Stand on Canoga (north of the freeway on the east side of the street by Baja Fresh) is partnering up with our school by offering Standcards for all Serrania families. Its free and everytime you use your card at the restaurant, our school receives 10% back. Plus there is curently a 5% discount to all card members. Its free and its easy - just print out the form below.

Serrania gets money from multiple community sources. Once registered appropriately, some of your day-to-day purchases and activities can passively generate money to our school. Clink on the link buttons on the right side of the page to register for stores and services (Ralphs, Target, Macys, Vons and GoodSearch) that give back to the community.

There is no better advice given to parents than to get involved in their children's school.
School involvement is rewarding on so many levels. The biggest impact is the message you send to your children - that their experience at Serrania is really important to you! You don't have to take it on as a full time job to reap the benefits - just get involved in whatever way you can and everyone wins! Please look for the volunteer sign up sheet, coming home soon, or contact our Parent Volunteer Coordinator, Lauri Aud.

General Appeal is one of the primary ways that we are able to raise enough money to fund our enrichment programs and aides for our school. Your contribution is tax-deductable and your support provides for all the students at Serrania. This year we are asking for every family to make a contribution of $10 per child per month. As a result of financial contributions of our families, we are able to provide a Music & PE Program, a Computer Lab, aids for the classrooms, programs like Accelerated Reading (new this year), a councelor and so much more. Please be a part of the team and help make Serrania shine!
